Fortuny: the artist's eye. Panoramas, portraits and other visions

The exhibition comprises a selection of more than one hundred photographs taken by Mariano Fortuny in the years between 1890 and 1930 within the space of the atelier on the first-floor piano nobile of Palazzo Fortuny in Venice. The first section of this exhibition occupies the southern wing of the atelier. In this section are more than sixty panoramic views taken between 1901 and 1908 using a Kodak-Panoram n.4. In perfectly with the main space of the atelier fits are the second section. Here are the working environment of Mariano Fortuny is recreated through precious paintings, wall-hangings, and the famous lamps all objects that testify to the artist’s work and his travels. At work in Fortuny’s art is the selection of high-quality photographs reflects the various creative stimuli, revealing how his eye developed over time. The exhibition at Palazzo Fortuny in Venice will be until July 2, 2006.
