An international symposium curated by Robert Storr in Venice.

On December 9 to 12 in Venice will take place the international symposium, where art worlds meet: Multiple modernities and the global salon, curated by Robert Storr. It is four days of conferences, round tables and discussions. Robert Storr, director of the 52nd International Art Exhibition to be held in 2007, will head it. The symposium will be at the Istituto Veneto di Scienze, Lettere Ed Arti - Palazzo Cavalli Franchetti. An opportunity for meeting and reflection, for self-analysis and self-criticism developed in its place of origin the symposium will provide. It will be a research forum investigating an exhibition format that is highly influential but increasingly problematic. The aim is to re-examine the complex origins and development of the Venice Biennale, consider its current functions and organization and cast an eye into the future in a context in which the model it created over a century ago has been extended to over a hundred cities and countries.
