Tintoretto, the Saint Catherine Cycle and the Patriarchal Palace Collection
At the exhibition visitors can see works of art preserved at the Patriarchal Palace, the residence of the Patriarch of Venice. The works dating from the fifteenth through the nineteenth centuries the collection is composed. And among the numerous works on view, the exhibition features the painting cycle of the Life of Saint Catherine of Alexandria, executed by Jacopo Tintoretto and his workshop for the Venetian church named for her, and property of the Soprintendenza per il Polo Museale Veneziano. This nucleus of pre-eminent works, and others that are relatively unknown or have not been previously exhibited, make the exhibition a truly exceptional event. The exhibition will take place to 30 July 2006 at Museo Diocesano di Arte Sacra in Venice.
